July 24, 2026The Constitution does NOT grant rights. It protects them. The ability to protect oneself from thievery, tyranny, and physical harm is an inherit right, and that ability is specifically protected by the Second amendment to our Constitution. While it does indeed help ensure our personal safety, its original purpose was to protect us from tyrannical officials in our own government, and ultimately as a fail-safe in case of foreign invasion. Japan's Yamamoto during World War 2 famously warned that an invasion of America would find an armed citizen behind every tree. No other country on earth guarantees individual liberty as does the United States, and our Second Amendment guarantee secures that liberty! The right to keep and bear arms is sacrosanct!! |
