Obama Decoded

May 14, 2010

Mr. Beck had it right on the money today. Komrade Obama is a master at deception, to wit, his speech at this weekend's graduation at Hampton University. First, the deceptive speech:

"[Y]ou're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments, some of which don't always rank that high on the truth meter. And with iPods and iPads; and Xboxes and PlayStations - none of which I know how to work - information becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy."

Now, the "in the clear" version, with the deceptive part omitted (and I understand sentence structure, since my Mother schooled me in it):

"[Y]ou're coming of age in a 24/7 media environment that bombards us with all kinds of content and exposes us to all kinds of arguments - [I]nformation becomes a distraction, a diversion, a form of entertainment, rather than a tool of empowerment, rather than the means of emancipation. So all of this is not only putting pressure on you; it's putting new pressure on our country and on our democracy."

So, information is a distraction, a diversion? I thought information was power. Oh yes, I forgot. He just wants to keep that power were it can do the most good (er, sorry - harm), away from us regular folks. Then, right on the heels of this stunning admission, the FCC declared the Internet a "utility". Why? Because the Court wouldn't let them enact so-called "Net Neutrality" - another of the progressive code words for information control - so they're just going to redefine it and do it anyway. Hmmmm, sounds kinda, oh I don't know, socialist? Fascist? Marxist? Every time stuff like this happens, books get burned, rights taken away, and dictators installed. Sounds like a roadmap to me.

But hey, maybe I just don't have enough information.

Oh, and by the way, "Mister" President - we don't live in a democracy. We live in a republic, or maybe you didn't get that through your Harvard "education".
